Thanks to a tip off from from a police department in the United States a man's been charged with allegedly grooming a girl online.
A 29 year old man will front Albany Magistrates Court today, charged with child exploitation offences.
In June 2017, WA Police received information from a police department in the United States regarding the alleged online activities of a West Australian man.
Albany Detectives commenced an investigation and a search warrant was carried out at a home in the Great Southern area on Tuesday.
A number of electronic devices were seized and police are continuing to analyse information from the seized devices.
It will be alleged the man communicated with a 14 year old girl online, seeking to groom her to engage in sexual activity.
The man has been charged with:
· Involved a Child in Child Exploitation;
· With Intent to Commit a Crime, Showed Offensive Material to a Child under 16 years; and
· Encourage a Child of or over 13 years and under 16 years to do an Indecent Act.
