Plein Air Down Under Outdoor Painting Festival 2026

Whether you're a seasoned artist or simply enjoy watching art in action, this festival offers something for everyone.

Running across multiple locations in Mandurah and Pinjarra, the festival features an exciting lineup of workshops, paint outs, exhibitions, awards, prizes, demonstrations, and artist talks. With over $12,000 in cash and prizes, participating artists aim to capture the character and beauty of the region’s stunning natural and built environment.

Pre and Post Festival Activities

To extend the festival experience, attendees can take part in a variety of pre- and post-weekend activities, including:

• World Wide Paint Out – 5 September, Mandjar Square Mandurah
• Spirit of the Landscape Exhibition – Mandurah Performing Arts Centre 5 September to 11 October
• Masterclasses with internationally acclaimed artists:
  • Oil & Pastel Painting with Greg Barnes (USA)
  • Oil Plein Air Painting with Leon Holmes (WA)
  • Watercolour Painting and Digital with Andy Dolphin (WA)
• Workshops led by award winning artists:

• Two-hour ‘Quick Draw’ painting competition

Ticket Information
• FREE for spectators to enjoy the festival atmosphere and watch the artists painting.
• Youth Artist Registration (18 and under): $10.00 for up to 3 days of painting
• Adult Artist Registration: $95.00 Early Bird (until 31 July), $120.00 Standard, for up to 7 days of painting
