Open wide, come inside... it's Play School.
One of Australia's most beloved children's shows is celebrating a remarkable milestone... Play School turns 60 this year.
For generations of Aussie families, it's been much more than just a TV show... it's been part of growing up, with favourites like Big Ted, Little Ted, Jemima, Hamble, Humpty and the famous windows becoming treasured childhood memories.
To celebrate, the ABC is launching a special birthday series called Party Animals, along with a behind-the-scenes Australian Story special.
The episode features interviews with beloved presenters Don Spencer, Justine Clarke, Simon Burke, Jay Laga'aia, Rhys Muldoon and Miah Madden.
Long-time presenter Leah Vandenberg says it's an incredible privilege to be welcomed into Australian homes every day, and after 60 years, Play School continues to prove that kindness, imagination and simple storytelling never go out of style.
