'That's the way it's gonna be, little darlin'.'

Aussie music legend Daryl Braithwaite has announced he's retiring from live performances after an incredible 58-year career.

The 76-year-old shared the news on social media, saying ongoing physical challenges have made it increasingly difficult to sing comfortably, and that performing no longer brings him the joy it once did.

I would like to share this news with you all.
After much thought and consideration,I have made the difficult and sad decision to step back from performing live gigs.
For some time now it has been increasingly physically challenging for me to sing comfortably and as a result it has taken the joy out of performing, which has always been so important to me.
I have loved the 58 years of being a part of the music industry.
I sincerely want to thank all of the dedicated and loyal supporters and all of the people and organisations that I have been associated with who have been such a significant part of my singing life. With much love and I thank you. Daryl

From his days with Sherbet to solo hits like The Horses and One Summer, Daryl has been part of the soundtrack to Australian life for decades.

He's thanked fans for their support, with the announcement prompting an outpouring of love from across the music industry.

We love ya, Dazza!!
