The Death of Robin Hood is an upcoming American thriller film starring Hugh Jackman as Robin Hood in a dark reimagining of the legend.
In the period piece, grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder, Robin Hood finds himself gravely injured after a battle he thought would be his last. In the hands of a mysterious woman, he is offered a chance at salvation.
The studio behind Everything, Everywhere All at Once, Uncut Gems, Midsommar, and more, and written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, who said, "Robin Hood was this murderous outlaw who did a lot of terrible things, and was kind of monstrous. But he’s lived long enough to see this folklore get created about him. He’s figuring out how he feels about that, about being portrayed as a hero when he knows what he really was.”
Rounding out the cast is Jodie Comer (28 Years Later), Bill Skarsgård (IT), Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus), and Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place) round out the cast.
The Death of Robin Hood is in post production and hits cinemas later this year.
