Mandurah Detectives have charged a 70 year old man after two motorbike riders were allegedly threatened with a rifle in Meelon.
The men were riding off road motorcycles around Darling Scarp Road at about 3pm on Saturday 10 June and became lost on bush tracks.
They stopped in a clearing of land to find their bearings when a vehicle approached them.
It will be alleged the 70 year old man pointed a rifle at one of the men on the motorcycles, striking his helmet with the end of the rifle and threatened to shoot the riders.
The 21 year old riders from Meadow Springs and West Pinjarra immediately took off.
As a result of the investigation, on Wednesday 14 June, detectives executed a search warrant at the man’s house in Lesmurdie.
His firearm was seized and the man has been charged with being armed to cause fear, act or omission likely to endanger life and common assault.
He will appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on Tuesday 20 June.
