A car has been stolen from a home in Forrestfield with a two-year-old child still inside the vehicle.
The green/grey Holden Commodore sedan was taken from the home on Gala Way around 11.55am today.
The child was located abandoned 10 minutes later outside a supermarket near the corner of Edinburgh Road and Lincoln Road in Forrestfield.
The stolen car then left the scene and was later found on Gooseberry Hill Road in Gooseberry Hill.
The driver fled on foot.
A large police presence is in the area as the search for the offender continues.
