Police are searching for a man driving a black Ford Ute who assaulted a couple at their Oakford home on Sunday morning.
Just after 8.30am a 71-year-old male approached a man who had entered his property's boundary.
Armadale Detectives said the man punched the victim to his head and face several times, knocking him to the ground, before the 64-year-old female victim attempted to intervene.
The woman was then punched to the head and she fell to the ground.
The male victim was then assaulted a second time before the 64-year-old woman was again attacked and pushed into a garden bed.
The offender left the scene in a black Ford Ute.
The male victim received serious head and facial injuries and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for emergency treatment to those injuries.
The female victim received injuries consistent with bruising and soreness.
Armadale Detective are asking local Oakford and Byford residents to check their CCTV and report any vision of a black Ford utility to them via Crime Stoppers.
They are also asking anyone who was driving in the Oakford and Byford areas yesterday morning to check their dash cameras for any vision of a black Ford utility.
