The Kent Street business has been engulfed by flames.
Emergency services were called to a business on Kent Street just after 3 o'clock on Thursday morning to reports of a fire.
A truck has ploughed through the front of a tattoo parlour at the Kent Street complex.
Police said it is unclear at this stage if the collision is what sparked a fire but the matter was being treated as suspicious.
The driver of the truck fled the scene before fire crews and police arrived.
Firefighters worked for an hour to get the blaze under control.
Crews remain at the scene mopping up the site. Police arson squad are expected to arrive at the scene this morning.
A damage bill is estimated at $500,000.
Customers have been urged to contact their tattoo artist if they have appointments scheduled at the store.
