A Golden Bay woman has been charged after allegedly putting snail poison in her colleague's curry.
Police allege the 58-year-old victim brought a container of curry to share with her fellow employees at their workplace in Oldbury on February 12 this year.
The curry had been shared among employees and eaten without issue during a morning tea break, but it is alleged that after the meal, the accused accessed a chemical storage shed and then entered the staff lunchroom where the food was kept.
The victim then took her lunchbreak and when she opened the container containing the curry she noticed bright green granules in the food.
Upon tasting a small amount she experienced numbness to her tongue.
The food was retained and provided to police with an investigation finding the curry allegedly contained metaldehyde, a poisonous substance used in snail pellets.
Police allege the accused and victim were in a "personal relationship".
On Thursday, October 8, detectives arrested a 43-year-old woman at her home in Golden Bay.
She has been charged with one count of endangering the life, health or safety of a person and is due to appear before the Armadale Magistrates Court on November 5.
