Hayley Dodd's family pray she will be found

Today marks 20 years since Mandurah teenager Hayley Dodd disappeared.

The 17-year-old was last seen walking along a road in Badgingarra in 1999.

Francis John Wark, 63, was last year convicted of abducting Hayley and murdering her, but her body has never been found.

He was sentenced to life with a minimum 21 years in jail.

Wark has always maintained he had nothing to do with her disappearance.

Hayely's mother Margaret Dodd said she hopes her daughter will one day be found.

“We no longer hold expectations of finding Hayley,” she said in a written statement to The West Australian.

“Twenty years of searching and false hope have left us in great despair.

“However, we pray that one day someone will find her and we can bring her home. But the likelihood of that happening is extremely remote. It seems that we are forever doomed to living a life of the unknown and never having an end to this torturous nightmare and peace in our lives.”
