A man is facing life in prison after admitting to killing another man and injuring his partner while they slept.
Damian Eric Maxfield, 31, appeared in the Supreme Court on Monday where he was due to go on trial for the murder of Scott Martin, 40.
But he instead pleaded guilty to the deadly home invasion that happened at the Blue Bay Apartments in Halls Head on January 14, last year.
Mr Martin was stabbed to death and his partner Erelle Mason, 32, brutally bashed as they woke to find Maxfield, who was not known to them, inside their apartment.
Maxfield will be sentenced on Thursday.
