A 33-year-old man has been charged after Mandurah police responded to reports of a man walking towards a busy intersection armed with a gun.
Several police cars rushed to the corner of Anstruther and Cooper Streets just before 10 this morning after a member of the public reported seeing a man armed with a firearm.
Officers took a man into custody.
Police said the man was carrying a replica weapon and was taken to hospital for an assessment.
A 33-year-old man from Coodanup has been now been charged with being armed in a way that may cause fear, carried (possessed) a weapon with intent to cause fear, assault public officer and possessing drug paraphernalia.
He is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court tomorrow.
