Police are investigating what happened in the moments before a 60-year-old man crashed his car in the state's south-west.
Police said around 2pm on Friday the man was driving a blue 1996 Ford sedan along Ocean Drive in Bunbury when he suffered a medical episode.
The car left the road, entered a car park at Mangles Street and drove through a fence barrier before it rolled down an embankment and onto Back Beach.
It's believed the 60-year-old suffered a medical episode and when emergency services arrived they took him to Bunbury Regional Hospital where he later died.
The victim was the only person in the car at the time of the incident.
Police are trying to determine the factors that contributed to this crash and are seeking witnesses who may have seen the Ford sedan driving in the area prior to or at the time of the crash to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
