The State Government has sold the naming rights of Perth Arena to the RAC.

Perth Arena will become RAC Arena from September 1.

The five-year naming agreement is understood to be worth about $10 million, according to The West Australian.

Visited by almost one million people each year, the venue has hosted stars including Prince, Pink, Katy Perry and the Rolling Stones.

It is also home to the Perth Wildcats and the Hopman Cup.

RAC Group CEO Terry Agnew said RAC is proud to expand its support of the iconic venue.

“In 2013 RAC became a Founding Partner of the venue and more recently became a sponsor of the RAC Local Lounge,” Mr Agnew said.

“RAC bstreetsmart, a free road safety re-enactment experienced by more than 30,000 Year 10-12 students, has also been held at the venue every year since 2013.”
