Major Crash Detectives are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Beaconsfield yesterday morning, 27 May 2018.
The crash occurred just before 11am when a man was sitting in a Volkswagen Golf in the driveway of a house in Michael Street. He was assisting another man to check rear lights on the vehicle.
It is believed that the man pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to reverse out of the driveway and into a neighbouring yard. During this time the man has fallen from the vehicle, receiving serious head injuries.
The 84 year old man was conveyed to Fiona Stanley Hospital where he tragically died as a result of his injuries.
The vehicle also hit the arm of the other man (aged in his 70’s), causing a minor injury.
Investigators would like to speak to anyone that witnessed the crash to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or to make a report online at crimestopperswa.com.au
