Treasurer Scott Morrison will now replace Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and face Peter Dutton's leadership spill.
The political in-fighting continues in the Liberal party room.
Treasurer Scott Morrison will now stand in for Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, who faces a second leadership challenge, from former Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton.
Polls show Mr Morrison only has 5 per cent support as the preferred leader of the Liberal party. Julie Bishop leads the race with 34 per cent, followed by Malcolm Turnbull at 30 per cent and Peter Dutton at 11 per cent.

Experts predict Julie Bishop will retain her position as deputy party leader, making it her third time in the role to three separate leaders.
On Tuesday Mr Dutton attempted to topple Mr Turnbull, but was unsuccessful. He announced earlier this morning a second challenge, which will be faced by Scott Morrison, not the Prime Minister himself.
