A shark warning remains for beaches near Margaret River after a surfer was knocked from his board.
Rob Bruce, 60, was paddling out at Main Break in Prevelly about 10am on Wednesday when he was bumped off his board by a 2m shark.
“I wasn’t a long way from shore, maybe only 100m, and the shark just hit me from my right side and knocked me off my board,” Mr Bruce told Seven News.
“I could only see the back half of it but I could see the fin and the tail fin so I definitely knew it was a shark."
The encounter, at Main Break, was the same surf break that hosted the Margaret River Pro before it was cancelled last week.
A young surfer was also 'swiped' by a sharks tail at South Point in Gracetown on Monday and two other surfers attacked just hours apart at nearby surf breaks the week before.
Beaches around Margaret River remain open, but surfers and swimmers have been warned to exercise extreme caution when entering the water.
