Major Fraud Squad Detectives have charged two men in relation to alleged extortion in Busselton.
Police said on Friday April 20 a 36-year-old man met two men to discuss an outstanding payment they allegedly said they were managing for another party.
One of the men then assaulted the victim before demanding he withdraw money to pay some of the alleged debt.
The victim was told to take the money to an address in Busselton where he was met by the other man and handed over the money.
Detectives charged the two men following the execution of a search warrant on the Busselton property.
A 30-year-old Australind man was charged with Demanding Property by Oral Threats, Possess a Prohibited Drug, Fail to Obey Order given by an Officer and Possess Prohibited Weapon
A 33-year-old man from West Busselton was charged with Demanding Property by Oral Threats.
The pair are due in Bunbury Magistrates Court today.
