Police have seized $33 million worth of meth after a joint operation conducted by the Western Australia Police and the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission.
Officers detained two men, who had travelled to Perth on the Indian Pacific train, on Saturday afternoon.
They were arrested as they departed the East Perth Train Station.
Police will allege 33kg of methylamphetamine was located in the men's luggage along with other items of interest.
A 25-year-old man from New South Wales and a 27-year-old man from Victoria have been charged with possessing a trafficable quantity of methylamphetamine with intent to sell or supply and giving false personal details to police.
They are both due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on August 22.
Detective Superintendent Kim Massam from the Serious and Organised Crime Division said the seizure represents the removal of about 330,000 hits of the drug from the community.
“The Western Australia Police Force and the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission continue to target those drug traffickers who have no regard for the harm they cause in the community. These drugs destroy lives and destroy families.”
