Two new local COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Western Australia.
Premier Mark McGowan confirmed one was a close contact of the infected man who attended the Perth Mess Hall event on December 19 and has been in self-quarantine.
That woman initially tested negative last week but has since tested positive.
The second case, also a woman, is linked to the backpacker community in Perth and it's not believed she was at the Perth Mess Hall event.
"They are currently being interviewed by our contact tracers to determine exactly where they were infected and any movements they may have made while infectious themselves," Premier Mark McGowan said.
The total number of locally acquired cases related to the recent outbreak is now 12, which includes the initial infected backpacker.
To date, 704 close contacts have been identified, with 54 yet to be tested.
WA Health has also identified 1260 casual contacts, with 204 yet to be tested.
"Our contact tracing team is working to identify exposure sites and follow up contacts – but we need you to do the right thing and get tested," Mr McGowan said.
"If you have been to an exposure site you need to come forward immediately."
