Rockingham Detectives are calling on the public's help as they investigate the assault of a woman at Kwinana Beach.
A man and the woman, who are known to each other, were near the dog beach and Wells Park between 11.30pm on Friday, May 17 and 12.30am on Saturday, May 18 when they were involved in an "altercation".
The man is then accused of assaulting the woman.
She was later treated at a local hospital for injuries she suffered in the alleged assault.
"Detectives believe several members of the public were in the area at the time of the assault who may have seen the incident or heard the woman’s screams," a WA Police spokesperson said.
