A woman and a young boy have been killed in a horror crash in the State's Wheatbelt.
It is believed a Holden Commodore towing a trailer ran out of petrol on the Brookton-Corrigin Road, about 28km west of the Corrigin town site, around midnight on Sunday.
The male driver left the vehicle on foot towards Corrigin in search of fuel, leaving a woman and four children waiting inside.
A semi-trailer, being driven by a 46-year-old man, came around the bend of the road and crashed into the back of the car, pushing it into a nearby paddock.
A 26-year-old woman and 10-year-old boy died at the scene.
An eight-year-old boy and five-year-old boy received serious injuries, while a three-year-old girl suffered minor injuries.
They were airlifted to Perth Children's Hospital.
The driver of the car, a 27-year-old man from Corrigin, was found by police walking along the Brookton-Corrigin Road.
Police remain at the scene.
