Our Digital Department are responsible for maintaining, running, and problem solving issues with our 3 websites (Coast FM - 91.7 The Wave and KIX Country South West), and our social media, and other digital content that we put out into the world.
PLUS the Digital Department tracks everything that happens on our sites and social media platforms.
It's a day that starts before 7am and goes long into the night, and that's 7 days a week, and they do a lot of behind the scenes work to keep the station running and on-air too!
Now: Our 3 websites don't just run themselves... graphics need to be made for promotions, and website advertising... News items written (that's done by our journalist and also our Digital Department), competitions posted, Blogs checked (like this one) and a tonne of other background stuff just to keep our sites and our apps running at full capacity.
They are also across our social media presence online too - from Facebook to Instagram and more.
Watching, curating and fixing and solving issues when they pop up.
A radio station Digital/Social Media person has to wear a lot of hats and know what they can and can't do online as a business - from the companies Social Media Guidelines through to what is legal for news story's and what is good for the brand too.
It's a job that requires a lot of digital and legal knowledge, plus computer skills and social media savvy!
