Police are seeking information regarding an incident in South Guildford where a 70-year-old woman was knocked unconscious.
Sometime between 6pm and 6:30pm on Friday March 1, the woman was watering the back garden of her Great Eastern Highway home when she noticed a man standing near her.
She ran inside the home with the man following her.
He then grabbed her wrist but she managed a break free and continued to run inside the house.
The man assaulted her, causing her to lose consciousness, and when she woke she had a serious laceration to her hand.
While she was unconscious, the man stole food from her freezer.
The man is described as being in his 20's with olive skin, about 175 centimetres tall, with a slim build and short wavy black hair.
He was wearing a dark hooded jumper, long dark pants and dark shoes.
The incident has left the 70-year-old woman extremely traumatised and suffering anxiety.
She is having trouble sleeping and no longer takes her daily walks.
Midland Detectives would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the man or any suspicious people in the area around the time of the incident.
