After initially being chased off, the man returned to the patio area where it's alleged he punched a woman in the face while the male resident had part of one of his fingers bitten off.

The male resident was able to subdue the man while the female resident called for help.

Both victims, aged in their 60s, were taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital for treatment to their injuries.

A 23-year-old man from Marangaroo has been charged with aggravated grievous bodily harm, aggravated common assault and trespass.

He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court today.
