Construction of the new Baldivis Police Station will get underway later this year.

The $25.3 million station will be built on Settlers Avenue near the corner of Sherry Street and Nairn Drive, filling the gap between Mandurah and Rockingham police stations.

With room for 100 full-time staff, the building will incorporate a safe and contemporary custodial area plus dedicated spaces for alcohol testing, finger printing and evidence management.

"Designed with future population growth in mind, the Baldivis Police Station will improve public safety and ensure appropriate response times to emergencies well into the future," Police Minister Paul Papalia said.

"The multi-million dollar complex will allow police to carry out their day-to-day duties in a more efficient and safe manner."

Construction is set to begin in October this year with practical completion expected by late 2024.

It is likely to be operational by early 2025.
