David Jones unveils plans for grand opening

The retail giant will have a list of goodies and specials on offer for early morning and late night customers during the store's opening day.

Despite recent controversy around Cooper & Oxley, the company responsible for building the new David Jones Mandurah store, the retailer is still set to open on time.

The $350 million redevelopment official opening day was announced this morning and set for late March.

The Mandurah store will be the first 'new look' David Jones in the Perth region, featuring the department store's internationally awarded new design.

Customers will be served complimentary barista coffee while waiting for doors to open on March 22 and the first 100 customers are set to receive a David Jones gift bag.

Late night shoppers won't miss out either, a live DJ and free sparkling wine will be offered to customers.

Although details haven't been revealed David Jones said a number of offers would run from opening day and through the weekend.

David Jones Chief Executive Officer David Thomas said work was on track for opening.

"The store fit-out is progressing well and we look forward to bringing our world class shopping experience to the heart of the exciting new Mandurah Forum development when we open next month," he said.

“Customers can expect an exciting mix of local and international brands in a premium environment with a comprehensive range of services.

"We are bringing a truly special retail experience to this vibrant and fast growing region.”

Shoppers can expect premium fashion, beauty and home items in store and a range of instore services including a Concierge, personal styling in the Personal Shopping Suite, Click & Collect and bookable beauty services.
