Mandurah has been chosen to take part in a pilot program for parents and pre-schoolers to begin exploring maths.

Partnering with the Smith Family, Mandurah is just one of four areas selected in WA and one of 15 across the country participating in the program introducing numeracy to young children.

The program, Maths Fun is an opportunity for parents to begin exploring mathematical concepts with their child, including measurement, counting, shapes and spatial awareness through play, stories, songs and hands-on activities to encourage a positive experience with maths in daily life.

Designed for children aged 3 to 5 years old, the program consists of four free play-based maths sessions.

Parents and children are required to attend all four sessions and provide program feedback at the end.
