The results are in for the Local Government Extraordinary Elections in the City's of Mandurah and Rockingham.
Brayden Sutton won the Town Ward seat in Mandurah following a tight race between him and Brenden Hatton.
Mr Sutton received 2248 votes after preferences followed by Mr Hatton with 2115.
The father-of-four fills the Town Ward vacancy after the resignation of Peter Rogers.
Mandurah Mayor Amber Kearns congratulated Mr Sutton on his win.
"A massive congratulations to Brayden Sutton on being elected to represent the Town Ward in the City of Mandurah’s extraordinary election," she wrote on her Facebook page.
"I also want to acknowledge all of the candidates who put their hand up to represent our community. It was awesome to be at the Tuckey Room last night and see the candidates together, along with some of my fellow councillors, and the candidates’ family and friends.
"Thank you to everyone who participated, voted and supported the candidates. That engagement is an important part of our local democracy and our community."
In the City of Rockingham extraordinary election, Jason Davies took out the Rockingham/Safety Bay Ward seat in a landslide victory.
Mr Davies claimed 7666 first-preference votes ahead of Elaine Smith who received 4113 and James Mumme with 2472.
The 37-year-old said he was incredibly grateful to have been elected to represent the people of Rockingham.
"Thank you to everyone who's supported me, The people that helped me by distributing flyers, shared my posts and even those who took the time to reach out and have a conversation with me, im incredibly grateful," he wrote on his Facebook page.
"Id like to now make a special thank you to my family because this election has not been an easy one and your support is what has kept me going.
"Im looking forward to getting to work and representing our community but for now im going to take tonight to be with my family and let the shock settle because truthfully i cant quite believe it."
Mr Davies takes over the Rockingham/Safety Bay Ward seat following the resignation of Dr Craig Buchanan.
Rockingham's election saw 26.41 per cent of eligible voters casting a ballot, while Mandurah saw 27.62 per cent.
