A 19-year-old North Dandalup man has been charged over the alleged brutal assault of a 53-year-old man.
Police will allege the 19-year-old was involved in an altercation with a group of people near traffic lights at the intersection of Barrack Street and Wellington Street in Perth around 12.00am on Saturday, November 14.
A short time later the man was involved in an altercation with a 53-year-old man in a loading bay near the intersection of Wellington Street and Barrack Street.
During the altercation the victim was allegedly struck, causing him to fall to the ground and hit his head.
St John Ambulance conveyed the man to Royal Perth Hospital where he was treated for serious head and facial injuries.
A 19-year-old man from North Dandalup has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, giving false details to police and disorderly behaviour in a public place.
He next appears in the Perth Magistrates Court on January 12, 2021.
