Police are investigating two suspicious fires burning in the Port Kennedy area.
Residents in the Port Kennedy area are being asked to remain alert with two out of control fires burning near Bayside Boulevard and at The Links Kennedy Bay Golf Court.
The aerial unit has been called in to provide support for firefighters as they struggle to contain the blaze.
Currently there is no threat to lives, but with a large amount of smoke in the area drivers are urged to remain vigilant.
The fire is currently moving in a northerly direction but is unpredictable and firefighters are expecting the wind to shift from a southerly to a south westerly around 5 this afternoon.
