A Perth couple have claimed a $2 million Saturday Lotto prize thanks to a lunch break in Harvey.
The couple in their late 40s were driving through Harvey when they decided to stop for lunch before visiting Harvey Newsagency and purchasing a Saturday Lotto ticket on a whim.
When visiting Lotterywest HQ to claim their prize, the couple said they are still in shock after finding out about their win.
“I checked the ticket at our local newsagency and was in complete shock when they quietly told me I had won,” the winner said.
“I’m still in shock to be honest, it’s life-changing news.
“I usually register all my tickets to my membership for safe-keeping but didn’t this time for no reason in particular.
“Thank goodness I didn’t lose the ticket!”
The couple are planning a family holiday with their prize and will use the winnings to make life more comfortable.
“It really takes the pressure off,” they said.
