A City of Rockingham councillor is set to be announced as the Liberal Party candidate for the Secret Harbour by-election.
The West Australian reports, Ryan Robertson was the only person to nominate for the party.
The 35-year-old real estate agent currently represents the Rockingham/Safety Bay ward as a City councillor.
He was also a member of the Royal Australian Navy for 12 years, serving as a submariner for majority of his defence career.
Mr Robertson, who lives in Rockingham, is set to be formally announced as Liberal candidate this weekend.

He will be up against Labor's Georgia Tree with One Nation yet to announce their candidate.
The Secret Harbour by-election, triggered by the retirement of long-serving Labor MP Paul Papalia, will be held on August 29.
