The Parks and Wildlife Service has issued a Smoke Alert for Perth to Mandurah and surrounds including the Perth Metropolitan area on the Swan Coastal Plain.
The smoke is the result of a number of bushfires in the area.
The smoke is expected to clear later this morning.
WHAT TO DO:
o Shut doors and windows and turn off air-conditioners.
o If driving through the area, turn on headlights and drive slowly. If you cannot see clearly, pull over to the left, keep your headlights and hazard lights on, and wait until the smoke clears.
o People with asthma and pre-existing respiratory or cardiovascular illnesses should follow their pre-prepared treatment plan.
o If affected by smoke, contact your doctor or call Health Direct on 1800 022 222.
