Telstra is getting into the festive spirit this Christmas, offering free local, national and standard mobile calls around Australia from Telstra home phones.
Calls from any of the companies 16,000 payphones across the country will also be free, as well as Wi-Fi services at some Telstra Air hotspots.
Keep in mind that international calls, 13 numbers, premium and directory services are not included in this offer.
The telco predicts customers will set a new record for data usage on this Christmas.
On Christmas Day alone, we're expected to:
- Download 1600 terabytes of mobile data (80% increase on Christmas 2016)
- Make 45 million calls from mobiles (15% increase on Christmas 2016)
- Send 48 million text messages (similar to Christmas 2016)
- Send 650,000 text messages to loved ones overseas – more than double the number sent on a typical day.
