Volunteering opportunities for the 2019 Castaways Sculpture Awards is now available.
The City of Rockingham is searching for approximately 30 volunteers to operate the information tent during the Castaways Sculpture Awards, which will run from Friday October 25 to Sunday November 3, 2019.
Castaways is a nine day outdoor exhibition featuring stunning sculptural works created from recycled and repurposed materials.
The information tent will be located at the Rockingham Beach Foreshore and volunteers will be the first point of contact for visitors seeking to explore the exhibition.
City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels encouraged arts and culture enthusiasts to get involved in one of the City’s most exciting events.
“The Castaways Sculpture Awards are returning in 2019 bigger and better than ever, and an exciting opportunity has opened up for a group of enthusiastic volunteers to help showcase this great event,” Mayor Sammels said.
“Thousands of people have visited the Castaways Sculpture Awards Exhibition since 2008 and volunteers now have the chance to assist in delivering information and resources at the information tent."
Volunteers at Castaways will also play an important role in promoting the Maquette and Small Sculpture Exhibition, which is set to be held simultaneously at the Rockingham Arts Centre.
