Peel Thunder have secured a 12-point win over West Coast in a wet and wintry clash at Lane Group Stadium on Sunday.
The Thunder and Eagles were neck-and-neck the entire game before a late goal from Charlie Nicholls and another on the siren from Tyrone Thorne sealed the 10.8 (68) to 8.8 (56) victory for Peel.
Dockers midfielder's Quinton Narkle and Will Brodie among the best performers with 42 and 41 disposals respectively.
Peel coach Adam Read said the conditions weren't ideal but they got there in the end.
"Not an easy day for the players out on the field that's for sure...it was a real arm wrestle, if you look at most of the stats they were pretty even," he said.
Read said after a string of losses, the victory gives his side some confidence heading into the next game.
"If gives them a bit of belief, there's a lot of young players in our team this year so a win like that gives them that little bit of reward for effort," Read said.
The victory pushes Peel back up to sixth on the WAFL ladder ahead of their clash with Claremont on Saturday, August 2.
