A man who is accused of deliberately running over two men in Warnbro then fleeing the scene has appeared in court.
Michael Jon Delaney, 36, allegedly mowed down Stephen Read, 42, and his friend, Christopher Bennell, 33, outside a Torbay Mews home in the early hours of Easter Sunday.
He allegedly fled the scene in his Ford Falcon but was arrested two hours later in North Dandalup.
Mr Read died at the scene, despite the efforts of an off-duty nurse who performed CPR.
Mr Bennell suffered serious injuries and was conveyed by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital.
Seven News reports, Mr Read was the sole carer of his nine-year-old son because his mother is in jail.
Mr Read's parents told Seven News they were estranged from their son, but their priority now was to look after their grandchild.
Mr Delaney, from Port Kennedy, has been charged with murder and attempted murder.
He was remanded into custody and is due to appear in the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on May 8.
