A 25-year-old Waikiki man has been jailed for nine months over a series of offences.
The man and a 20-year-old woman allegedly stole a red Suzuki sedan from a home in Rockingham on May 23.
About 10.30pm on May 25, police spotted the vehicle on Canning Highway in Victoria Park.
The car was being driven by the man with the woman as a passenger.
"Police activated their emergency lights and sirens and attempted to stop the Suzuki however, the man failed to stop and became involved in an evade incident," a WA Police spokesperson said.
"Police Air Wing tracked the vehicle as it travelled at excessive speeds, on the incorrect side of the road and through red traffic control lights throughout East Perth, Victoria Park, East Victoria Park and Kensington."
The vehicle was abandoned in Karawara and the pair fled on foot.
The man was found on a roof and the woman was located inside the nearby home of an associate.
