Twin seven-year-old girls who died in a horrific crash in the Wheatbelt were students at Halls Head Primary School.
Macey and Riley were in a Toyota Camry being driven by their mother along the Great Eastern Highway near Carrabin on Sunday morning when the vehicle left the road and hit a tree.
The girls died at the scene while their 31-year-old mother Rachel Van Oyen survived the accident and was taken to Merredin Hospital before being discharged later that day.
It's understood the trio had been visiting family in Kalgoorlie and were on their way back to Perth when the crash happened.
Macey and Riley were in Year 3 at Halls Head Primary School.
The West Australian reports, in a letter sent out to Halls Head Primary School parents this week, Principal Peter Beckingham reassured them that support would be available to students if needed.
“I write to you with some very sad news,” the letter said, according to The West.
“Two of our current Year 3 students have died over the weekend.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends as they grieve this tragic loss.
“You may be concerned about your child’s reactions or feelings about this news.
"Your child may be upset, even if they did not know the students. We encourage you to give your child opportunities to talk about how they are feeling.”
Major Crash are continuing their investigation into what caused the crash.
