A Mandurah man has come forward to claim $1 million in Monday Lotto prize money after purchasing a Division 1 winning ticket from Nextra West Forum Newsagency in Mandurah.
The windfall marks the second Division 1 winning ticket sold by the Mandurah outlet so far this year with store owner Glenn Cornish hoping it was a sign of things to come ahead of tonight’s $50 million OZ Lotto jackpot.
“There’s a real buzz around tonight’s jackpot which is the highest we’ve experienced for OZ so far this year,” Mr Cornish said.
“Imagine all the dreams you could turn into reality if you were $50 million richer,” he added.
Lotterywest spokeswoman Chloe Lawler said it was expected retailers like Mr Cornish would pump out around 450 tickets per minute during peak periods this afternoon.
“We’ve already seen lines out the doors of our stores in Cloverdale, Midland, Karrinyup and Karratha,” Ms Lawler said.
“They churned out almost 200,000 tickets between them yesterday alone,” she added.
