Rockingham Central Lottery Centre has sold another winning Division 1 Saturday Lotto ticket for 2017.
One lucky Lotto player in Western Australia is waking up a millionaire following the sale of a winning Division 1 Saturday Lotto ticket across the weekend.
The winning ticket – sold at Rockingham Central Lottery Centre – is worth just over $1 million and marks the 53rd Division 1 win for the State.
Store owner Marie Alexander said she was shocked to learn that her store had scooped its second Division 1 Saturday Lotto winning ticket for the year.
“There must be something in the water because we actually sold a Division 1 winning ticket worth over $1 million back in February,” Mrs Alexander said.
“The win marks the sixth Division 1 winning ticket sold here in just over five years,” she added.
Mrs Alexander said Rockingham’s lucky streak didn’t stop at Lotto tickets with the store recently selling a scratchie that bagged one lucky local $200,000.
“I crunched some numbers out of curiosity and over the past five years, Rockingham Central Lottery Centre has returned an incredible $6 million in Division 1 prize money.
“But it’s always important to remember that every time you play with Lotterywest, the good fortune doesn’t stop with prize money.
“For every dollar spent on Lotterywest games, around one third is returned to benefit the local community."
Most recently, Lotterywest provided $900,000 to the City of Rockingham towards the construction of the new Baldivis South Community Centre – a multi-purpose facility supporting community services and activities for residents in Baldivis and Rockingham.
