The Aqua Jetty in Warnbro will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a free open day on Sunday April 30.
The facility was officially opened in April 2003 by former Mayor Chris Elliott and the then WA Premier Dr Geoff Gallop.
At the time it was the largest community capital investment ever undertaken by the City.
To celebrate 20 years in the community, an open day featuring free activities including group fitness classes, fitness challenges, an animal farm, bouncy castle, water volleyball and a waterslide will be available at Aqua Jetty from 10am – 2pm on April 30.
Mayor Deb Hamblin said Aqua Jetty’s 20th birthday celebrations were the latest in a series of milestones for the City’s leisure facilities in 2023.
“Earlier this year the City celebrated the 50th birthday of the Rockingham Aquatic Centre and the opening of the new Baldivis Sports Complex, and now we are excited to be hosting a free community open day in recognition of Aqua Jetty’s 20th anniversary,” Mayor Hamblin said.
“Since opening in 2003 Aqua Jetty has provided community members with a wealth of opportunities to enhance their physical, mental and social wellbeing. Thousands of members and visitors have taken advantage of the programs, activities and facilities on offer.
“Detailed design on the Aqua Jetty Stage Two project is well underway, with the facility to be refurbished and expanded to cater for the City’s population growth."
