Authorities investigate shark bite incident at South West beach

Authorities are currently investigating a shark bite incident at a South West beach.

It's believed a male surfer was attacked by a suspected white shark at Boat Ramp Surfing Spot near Gnarabup Beach around 8.45am on Monday.

The extent of the surfer's injuries is unclear.

Surf Life Saving WA reported a white shark sighting at Gnarabup Beach in Prevelly about 9am on Monday.

Officers from the Shire of Augusta Margaret River have closed beaches from Gas Bay to Margaret River Mouth.
