The Department of Fire and Emergency Services has issued a bushfire advice for the area.
A bushfire advice has been issued for people bounded by Karnup Road to the north, Hopeland Road to the east, Punrak Road to the south and Yangedi Road to the west in Hopeland in the shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale.
The fire started at the intersection of Karnup Road and Yangedi Road in Hopeland around midday.
DFES said the fire is stationary and contained but not controlled.
There is no threat to lives or homes but there is a lot of smoke in the area.
Motorists are urged to turn headlines on and drive slowly through the area.
There are also no road closures in place as result of the blaze.
