A Falcon mother has thanked the community for their help after being reunited with her toddler.

Malia had wandered off from her home on Tuesday morning.

A member of the public spotted the two-year-old walking alone near Old Coast Road around 7.30am and alerted police.

Officers knocked on nearby homes in the hope of finding her parents before they posted a photo of the toddler on their social media pages asking for the public's help to identify the little girl.

The post was shared thousands of times.

Two and a half hours later, her family collected her from Mandurah Police Station.

Speaking on 7NEWS, her mother Brookelyn Snell said she was happy to be reunited with her daughter.

“I was distraught without my daughter,” Ms Snell told 7NEWS.

“This is why my landlord is going to give me a new door today, with a screen on it.”
