Major Crash Investigators have charged a man in relation to a hit and run crash in Cooloongup on Friday afternoon that left a motorcyclist in a serious condition.
A white Holden Statesman and a Honda motorcycle collided in the southbound lanes of Read Street near the intersection of Goongarrie Drive at about 1:15pm.
It's alleged the driver of the Holden Statesman failed to stop at the scene.
Police stopped the car a short time later near the intersection of Read Street and Patterson Road in Rockingham.
Four people in the vehicle were taken into custody, with the passengers later released.
The alleged driver, a 34 year old man from Belmont, is facing a number of charges in court today including dangerous driving, no authority to drive
and driver fail to report and incident occasioning death or grievous bodily harm.
The 36 year old male rider of the motorcycle received serious injuries in the crash and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital by St John Ambulance.
